Keeping Away the Caregiver Blues

Free telephone workshop connects families throughout California

In an effort to provide the best possible care for a family member or friend, caregivers often sacrifice their own physical and emotional needs. The emotional and physical experiences involved with providing care can strain even the most capable person.

A free telephone workshop, Keeping Away the Caregiver Blues aims to help. Participants will learn self-care tips and valuable strategies for caring for someone with a chronic or disabling health condition. This workshop will help caregivers understand the latest research on why those who care for others often feel sad, guilty and alone—and what we can do to change these feelings. Callers will also learn positive action steps to help transform negative thinking, reduce stress, and communicate more effectively.
