June 21 “Getaway” for LGBT Family Caregivers
Celebrating Pride at Barbary Lane
Family Caregiver Alliance invites members of the LGBT (Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/ Transgender) community who are caring for a loved with a chronic or debilitating health condition to a free one-day retreat on June 21 at the historic Barbary Lane Senior Community at Lake Merritt in Oakland.
Participants will share experiences, resources and laughter in the company of other LGBT caregivers while enjoying a continental breakfast and catered lunch. They will have the opportunity to learn the essentials of stress relief and self-care, how to express creativity through journal writing, and explore conflict resolution through storytelling, dance and other techniques.
