Respite care for people with dementia and their carers

Purpose The purpose of this study was to assess the effects of respite care for people with dementia and their caregivers, in particular the effect of respite care on rates of institutionalization.

Procedure A review from the Cochrane Collaboration analyzed three randomized controlled trial studies in order to assess the effects of respite care for people with dementia and their caregivers, and in particular the effect of respite care on rates of institutionalization

Outcomes Re-analysis found no significant effects of respite care on any variable.
