MA - Paid Family Leave (2007)

Bill would establish a paid family leave program for Massachusetts employees, allowing them to receive up to twelve weeks of paid leave to care for a seriously ill spouse, child or parent or for the birth or adoption of a new child. Employees will contribute .1% of their wages (no more than $120 annually) to a family fund; and employees who take leave will be paid from this fund an amount equivalent to what they would get for unemployment insurance.
