The Economic Crisis and Its Impact on State Aging Programs (2009)

This paper reveals the results of a survey focused primarily on the outlook for FY 2010 state budgets. It finds that "the overall budget conditions in the states continued to decline," despite previous expectations that the FY2010 fiscal conditions would be consistent with those of FY 2009. Nearly all state units on aging (96%) that participated in the survey reported a reduction in their aging budgets.
