Alzheimer's Breakthrough Act (2009)

Federal bill would double funding for Alzheimer?s research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH); expand services for family caregivers within Alzheimer's care state matching grant programs, including the provision of caregiver assessment; establish a national, 24 hours-a-day Alzheimer's disease call center to provide expert advice, care consultation, information, and referrals; and provide funds for an Alzheimer's Disease Public Awareness Campaign.
