Alzheimer's Family Assistance Act (2009)

Federal bill would provide an income tax credit, starting at $2,000 in 2009 and increasing each year until it reaches $3,500 in 2012, for family caregivers providing care to a relative with long-term care needs. The bill also allows a tax deduction for long term care (LTC) insurance premiums and improves consumer protections for LTC insurance policy-holders.
