TX - Family Caregiving Public Awareness (2009)

Bill would coordinate public awareness outreach efforts regarding the role of family caregivers and the support services available to them. The bill would also require the state to expand its website with information about best practices in caregiver support, to screen for family caregivers through the Medicaid program so they can be referred to appropriate services, to develop a protocol for assessing family caregivers who access services, and to collect the data from those assessments in order to assess and improve existing services.
