Caregiving: A national profile and assessment of caregiver services and needs (2006)

This report analyzes national data from the 2000 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) and state-specific data from the 2005 BRFSS in North Carolina. This report provides data on caregiving prevalence and demographics, as well as caregivers' self-rated physical and mental health status. It also examines caregivers' needs as they relate to environmental factors, medication, outside support, coping and unmet need. The report also states the need for future research, including how to compare variable BRFSS data on family caregiving between states.
