Caregiving in the U.S (2004)

This report provides a broad overview of the caregiving population, based on data from a national survey conducted by Belden, Russonello & Stewart of 1,247 identified caregivers using random digit dialing. It reveals the prevalence of caregiving, demographic information about family caregivers, a profile of the type and intensity of the care they provide, the impact on caregivers' physical and emotional health, caregivers' use of support services in the community, and caregivers' unmet needs. The national survey will be updated in 2009.
