NASW Standards for Social Work Practice with Family Caregivers of Older Adults

Speaker: Dr. Sandra Edmonds Crewe, Professor, Associate Dean for Academic and Student Advancement and Director of the Multidisciplinary Center for Gerontology at Howard University in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Crewe helped create the 12 NASW Standards released in 2010 and designed by the National Association of Social Workers in partnership with the AARP Foundation, the Administration on Aging, and Family Caregiver Alliance with funding from the John A. Hartford Foundation. Dr. Crewe will review and discuss the significance of each of the standards through case studies and discuss how social workers will utilize the information when working with family caregivers of older adults.
