Family Caregiver Alliance (FCA)
FCA support and assists families and caregivers through education, advocacy and services. In addition to providing training to technical assistance to California’s Caregiver Resource Centers, FCA hosts the National Center on Caregiving (NCC). The NCC serves as a central source of information on caregiving and long-term care issues and works to advance policies and programs for caregivers in every state in the country.

Can I Get Help to Pay for Caregiving?
Community Long Term Care Program (CLTC)
Community Long Term Care (CLTC) offers programs to help individuals who want to live at home, need assistance with their care, and are financially eligible for Medicaid.
Services may include care management, in-home care, environmental modification, home delivered meals, adult day health care, respite care, incontinence supplies, limited medical equipment.
Under the Community Choices waiver, certain family members, excluding spouses and legal guardians, can be hired and paid as the personal care provider.

Community Supports Waiver
Community Supports Waiver serves people with intellectual disability or related disabilities whose waiver service needs will not exceed the individual cost limit set forth in the waiver, in their home and/or community. It also offers opportunities for individuals to self-direct certain services if they choose – allows certain family members, excluding spouses and legal guardians, to be hired and paid as the personal care provider.

The Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) National Helpline, 1-800-662-HELP (4357) (also known as the Treatment Referral Routing Service), is a confidential, free, 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year, information service, in English and Spanish, for individuals and family members facing mental and/or substance use disorders. This service provides referrals to local treatment facilities, support groups, and community-based organizations.

South Carolina Family Caregiver Support Program
The Family Caregiver Support Program is to provide support and services to family and informal caregivers to support caregivers in providing care for their loved ones in the home and community for as long as possible. The South Carolina Department on Aging works with 10 regional Area Agencies on Aging to administer the Family Caregiver Support Program.
The Family Caregiver Support Program provides the following services to caregivers: Information to caregivers about available services and assistance, referral for counseling, support groups, and caregiver training, respite care; and supplemental services.

Disability Rights South Carolina (DRSC) is a non-profit corporation serving people with disabilities. The Bureau of Health Facility Licensing (BHFL) regulates health care facilities and providers in South Carolina. It enforces standards, inspects, and licenses facilities such as nursing homes, hospices, home health agencies, adult day cares and other facilities.
