Family Caregiver Alliance (FCA)
FCA support and assists families and caregivers through education, advocacy and services. In addition to providing training to technical assistance to California’s Caregiver Resource Centers, FCA hosts the National Center on Caregiving (NCC). The Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) National Helpline, 1-800-662-HELP (4357) (also known as the Treatment Referral Routing Service), is a confidential, free, 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year, information service, in English and Spanish, for individuals and family members facing mental and/or substance use disorders. Home & Community-based Options and Person Centered Excellence (HOPE) Waiver
The Home & Community-Based Options and Person Centered Excellence (HOPE) Waiver operated by the Division of Long Term Services and Supports, allows the Department to use Title XIX Medicaid to provide home and community-based services to individuals that are risk for institutionalization. Waiver services may include personal care, homemaker, adult day care, in-home nursing, meals, emergency response systems, other supplemental services.

Department of Health – Office of Health Facilities Licensure & Certification
The Office of Health Facilities Licensure & Certification surveys, licenses and recommends federal certification for health care facilities (assisted living centers, community living home, home health care, hospice, nursing facilities, residential living centers) in SD. Its goal is to ensure state health and safety standards are met and also federal standards if the facility is a Medicaid or Medicare provider.
