FCA Is Proud to Support LGBTQ+ Caregivers
June 10, 2021
As a San Francisco-based nonprofit supporting family caregivers for more than 40 years, FCA celebrates and honors diversity and inclusion. We consider family to be an inclusive term and we recognize that caregivers might be friends, partners and community.
We join the world in celebrating Pride Month, and we’re proud to advocate for and support LGBTQ+ caregivers everywhere.
Through the development of LGBTQ+-related resources, support groups, events and partnerships, we work to ensure we’re addressing the needs of these caregivers and supporting them.
If you’re an LGBTQ+ caregiver seeking resources, please see our fact sheets:
There are many organizations in the SF Bay Area and across the country that provide support and community to LGBTQ+ caregivers and older adults. They can be a great resource for services and programs so consider learning more and supporting them:
- Openhouse
- Rainbow Community Center of Contra Costa County
- The Spahr Center of Marin
- San Mateo Pride Center
- Lavender Seniors of the East Bay
- Billy deFrank Community Center
- Sage
- Lambda Legal
We’re happy to join in Pride Month celebrations, honoring the generations of LGBTQ+ individuals who have fought for change, and to continue supporting LGBTQ+ caregivers.
