How does it work?

The well known evidence based intervention, Savvy Caregiver Program, was adapted by a UTHSCSA team into a culturally relevant curriculum for Spanish speaking caregivers. The adapted program was named Cuidando con Respeto. The Cuidando curriculum takes a family centered approach, incorporating interactive learning activities by which caregivers can exchange experiences and learn strategies for interaction with family members with Alzheimer’s disease.

Why is it successful? To date almost 350 individual and groups of family caregivers have participated in the program. Evaluations to date show an overwhelming positive response from caregivers.
