The Alzheimer’s Association will give you the phone number for the chapter near you. The local chapter will provide you with information on diagnostic centers and possible physicians who specialize in diagnosing memory impairments in your geographic area.

ADEAR is a service of the National Institute on Aging (NIA). The NIA is part of the Federal Government’s National Institutes of Health. The ADEAR Center provides information about Alzheimer’s disease, its impact on families and health professionals, and research into possible causes and cures.
The information specialist will be able to help you to:
• locate the nearest NIA funded Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center closest to you
• find answers to your questions about Alzheimer’s disease
• get information about the latest research findings on Alzheimer’s disease
• learn about studies of new treatments
• receive publications about Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders

Contact FCA for the name and number of the California Caregiver Resource Center
(CRC) in your geographic area. The CRCs serve as a single point of entry to caregiver services offering families a full compliment of services, including specialized information and support, family consultation and care planning, legal/financial planning, educational programs and publications. All California residents have access to one of 11 CRCs, and all services are free or low cost.

The Alzheimer’s Research Centers provide services for memory-impaired persons and their families, including state-of-the-art diagnosis, treatment, education and research.
